who we are
Leadership Team
A cross-continental partnership connecting the Middle East and China
1. Wei Zhang Co-Founder & Technology Director
Wei Zhang is a technology and manufacturing specialist with over two decades of experience across China’s electronics and industrial sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangzhou (1999–2003), followed by professional and executive studies in Industrial Automation & Control (2004–2006).
He began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer in Foxconn/Hon Hai-related manufacturing operations in Shenzhen (2003–2006), before moving into automation and manufacturing engineering roles at Siemens China in Shenzhen/Guangdong (2006–2010). He then spent five years as Senior Manufacturing / Automation Manager at Huawei in Shenzhen (2010–2015), where his responsibilities included manufacturing engineering, automation projects, equipment procurement, Chinese supplier qualification, production-line optimization, and coordination between engineering teams and suppliers. Since 2020, he has worked as an Independent Technology & Manufacturing Consultant and Supplier Network Builder, before co-founding Axion.
Wei brings Axion deep, firsthand experience across some of China’s largest manufacturing and technology organizations, along with an extensive network of Chinese suppliers and manufacturing partners.
2. Daniel Tan Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Daniel Tan brings two decades of experience in international business development, strategy, and China–Middle East trade. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2000–2004).
He began his career as a Management / Business Development Executive at a Singapore-based technology trading company (2004–2007), then moved into a Regional Business Development Manager role at Schneider Electric in Singapore (2007–2011). He went on to serve as Managing Director / Regional Director for the Middle East & Asia (2019–2023), leading regional operations and partnerships before co-founding Axion in 2023/2024.
At Axion, Daniel leads corporate strategy, international partnerships, investor relationships, commercial negotiations, and China–Middle East business development, along with management of the firm’s strategic accounts.
3. Fadi Al-Hassan Co-Founder & Regional Director
Fadi Al-Hassan, 50, has built a 25-year career in technology, telecommunications, and regional business development across the Middle East. He graduated from Damascus University with a degree in Informatics in 1996.
He began his career as a Systems Engineer / Technical Consultant with Schlumberger / Schlumberger Information Solutions in the Middle East (1999–2003), followed by technical and account management roles at Ericsson Middle East across Damascus, Amman, and Dubai (2000–2005). He then served as Senior Account Manager / Business Development Manager at Cisco Systems for the Middle East/Levant region (2005–2009), before returning to Ericsson as Regional Business Development Director for Middle East & Africa (2009–2012) and later Iraq Country / Key Accounts Director based in Baghdad (2012–2016). He went on to serve as General Manager / Managing Director of Iridium Solutions in Baghdad (2016–2019), before co-founding Axion in 2023/2024.
Based in Baghdad, Fadi now leads Axion’s regional activities, client relationships, and business development across Iraq and the wider Middle East, drawing on decades of experience with leading global technology and telecommunications firms in the region.
